Tots at Nite

Looking at today’s family dynamic, an overwhelming amount of parents with young children work full time during the day.large group cups photo

A shared goal of both libraries and A Time for Kids is to meet the current needs of the community.

From that goal came the idea for a program that totally engages and educates the adult and child couple!

Currently our most sought after program by Long Island patrons and their respective libraries is Tots Nite Out. This program allows libraries to provide a unique service to families with young children who are unable to attend children’s programs during the day.

In 1990, A Time for Kids was one of the only outside contractors of children’s programs to provide an hour long evening program that was not a story time. Today, our Tots at Nite is presented monthly in nearly 40 different Long Island libraries. A Time for Kids is often contracted as a series of weekly engagements and popular demand has necessitated the need for some libraries to contract for multiple classes in one evening starting at 6:15, ending at 8:30!

The program format and mission of this evening program is the same as our daytime offerings.
